A poem

A nightmare woke me up

Where I loved what I had

But not who I was

A nightmare woke me up

When the waiting time was over

And my turn was up

This wasn’t stage fright

Or perhaps it was

For my lines were scrambled

And my rosetta stone was lost

A nightmare woke me up

Where secrets were chaining me up

Against a wall made of dreams

And all that I could have done

A nightmare woke me up

So I turned the light on

And I sat down with my heart

A nightmare woke me up

But it was all in my head

And that was all I needed to know

I’m considering going for a new taste in poetry; a little bit darker. This was my 1st attempt at that. I’d love to hear what you think.
